Commission FAQ
Generally a commission will follow this rough sequence:
The initial inquiry - You reaching out to me with a rough idea of what you are wanting.
The consultation - A detailed outline of what you are wanting exactly, either via email or a video call. Discussing the details, including size, style, level of detail, medium, and subject matter.
Quote - After the consult I will work out the cost for the creation of the work and supply you with a price. If it works for you we can move onto the next steps.
Timeline - I’ll send you a rough timeline of the project on when each stage of the work should hopefully be done by. If however, there is a specific date you need it by please discuss it in the consultation.
Also keep in mind that I am one person and sometimes things might take a little longer than initially hoped, but I will keep you updated.Agreement and deposit - If you are happy with everything, you will pay a small deposit, which will be outlined in the quote. once the deposit has been paid I will begin the creation.
Creation - This is where i go off into my little arty world and start bringing your commission to life. While sending you updates along the way.
Approval and final payment - Once you approve the piece, and pay the remainder of the cost then I can send your piece to you.
What mediums do you work in?
I mainly work with watercolours and acrylics, but also do a little digital work. See here for examples.
Can I see progress updates?
Im more than happy to send you updates of the progress!
I will share the beginning planing stages of the work, along with the progress when halfway through the work, and again at the end.
BUT please keep in mind that things might not look exactly how you think at the halfway mark or at any mark up until the work is finished.
If you are wanting more frequent updates, like after certain aspects of the piece are done, please let me know and I’m happy to send through some images.
How much does it cost?
Every commission is different from one another and so there isn’t a generalised cost for every commission piece.
The price depends on things like materials and size. Prices will be discussed with you, if you choose to work with me.
How long will it take?
Like with the price, each piece is different and Unfortunately it doesn’t have a straight answer. it once again depends on things like the materials and size, along with how long it takes to do the background work (initial inquiry, consultation, creating a quote and working out a timeline). From there, there is also the creation of the work and delivery.

How long for delivery?
Your order can take up to a week, or longer depending on the size of the order, to process and for the items to be made before it gets shipped out.
The shipping times can vary, especially during periods of high demand and postal traffic (for example around the christmas months). For the most part the shipping should take around 1 to 2 business weeks (not including that processing and making time).
Shipping
Shipping is a flat rate of $12.99 per order and we currently only ship within Australia.
Why is shipping that price?
This price helps to cover the costs of the packaging materials and cost of shipping required to send you your items.
Refunds/Exchanges/Cancellations
At this time we don't currently accept any of the above. Please be mindful when placing your order.
Wrong Address
Make sure to double check your shipping address is correct prior to checking out as once it is with Australia Post it is unfortunately out of my hands. If you do notice an error in your address please get in contact via email (carlyannart@outlook.com) and granted the package hasn't already been sent out, we’ll make the necessary adjustments.
